孙越崎科技教育基金(以下简称基金)于1992年10月16日建立。基金是为了纪念当代工矿泰斗孙越崎先生70多年来为中国工矿事业作出的突出贡献，由朱学范、钱伟长、程思远等20位知名人士及能源界领导倡议而设立的专项基金。基金的宗旨是支持和资助能源科技教育活动、奖励有突出贡献的科技人员、培养科技人才、促进中国能源科技教育事业的繁荣和后备人才的成长，以实现孙越崎先生发展科技教育、振兴中华的宏伟愿望。
