名古屋めしとは、愛知県名古屋市を中心とする中京圏が発祥の、もしくは中京圏で発展した食事の総称である。グルメ情報誌の記者がイタリア料理のイタめしをまねてなごめしという呼称でゼットンの料理を紹介しようとした。これに対しゼットンの代表取締役社長としていた稲本健一がもっとストレートに”名古屋めし”と呼ぶことを提案し、採用されたのが言葉の始まりである。
