Discover Balloons was formed in 1988 by Doug Grimes and Patty Lewis. Doug began flying Hot Air Balloons in 1979 and operated balloon ride operations in Durango, CO; parts of Northern California; and San Diego, CA. Patty was in the marketing department of an airline that had their own Hot Air Balloon with the company logo.
