COFFEE COUNTY

2013年11月、久留米市に焙煎所・コーヒーカウンティをオープン。これに先駆け、2013年5月から約3ヶ月中米のコーヒー産地に赴きました。拠点としたニカラグアでは農園に住み込み、働き手にまじって日々農作業に従事、コーヒー作りを根本から学びました。コーヒーそのものだけでなくそこで働く人々やその土地の暮らしについて知りたかったというのも農園滞在に至った大きな理由の一つです。またその間、ニカラグアを拠点に中米各国のコーヒー生産者を訪ね、多くの信頼できる繋がりを得ました。コーヒーカウンティではそのように毎年訪れる中米の生産農家のコーヒーを主に取扱、日々焙煎、作り手の人柄やその土地の風土まで伝えていきたいと考えています。
